As an aspiring VJ I look up to you a lot! I was just wondering if you had any tips and tricks to share. I love the ability to transform an entire space with the power of lighting and projectors. VJing is probably one of my favorite things right now in my life! My setup usually consists of 2 projectors ran through my Macbook Pro using the software Modul8. I have been thinking about producing my own 3d models/images and was wondering how much of that you did on your own. Thanks in advance, and like I said– Big fan of your videos
Thank you for your compliments. =) Producing content can be time-consuming. As a live VJ your directives are to interpret the music/vibe of the room as best you can, as fast you can. I would focus on mastering particle effects/filters. When you really understand them, you’ll be more selective about your content. Your content will become more like seed material. For example keeping your content grayscale/white allows you to subtract colors to get the desired color quicker. Otherwise you’d have to also make adjustments with the additive color palette. Less busy work means more time for creativity. Good luck!
